Laura is a fantastic Spanish teacher! I moved to Puerto Rico with zero Spanish experience (having taken French in school) and Laura was so approachable, knowledgeable, and friendly in her classes. I signed up for the extremely basic beginners class and by the end of the first round of lessons had a much better grasp of the words and phrases I needed in order to get around. Laura incorporates her knowledge of Spanish in general, as well as discusses and teaches specific dialects. Learning the nuances of Spanish in Puerto Rico has been super helpful in my comprehension! I've been Buen Dia-ing people ever since!

I can't stress enough how nervous I was to learn a new language and how personable, patient, and funny Laura is in her teaching. Her style is fluid and helpful, and she seamlessly incorporates your questions and experiences into the lessons. I took small group, in-person classes, as well as one-on-one remote classes, and found both to be equally as effective.

English is extremely common in Puerto Rico, but I wanted to embrace the community by understanding Spanish as best I could. Because of Laura's classes, I feel much more confident in my ability to communicate while grocery shopping, getting gas, and just living here in general.

About one month after this unexpected shutdown, I was (like many I assume) starting to feel really sad. I decided that I needed to do something for myself. Scrolling through Facebook, I saw that my "old" friend Laura was beginning to do the same.

I met Laura when our kids were in 5th grade and she and I were paired to drive a load of 5th graders to Mackinac Island for their field trip and let's just say we hit it off. They are a US Coast Guard family and so sadly, like many USCG friends I have, moved away to serve our country at another station.

Laura teaches ALL levels of Spanish. I look forward to my Wednesday classes so much! We "meet" on Facebook Messenger so that when we are talking she can use the chat tool to correct me and you never lose that history -- so I can go back to our conversation and study my mistakes...and there are a lot of them...lol.

So this is my 100% absolute endorsement of not only her mad teaching skills but that anyone that takes a class with her will also find a new, awesome friend!
